Our casa is situated in Alvorninha (Caldas da Rainha). The village is part of the Silver Coast, located between Lisbon and Porto.

 

The quantity and quality of the sites along with the mild climate makes this region a popular destination.

 

In addition to the broad beaches, about 20 minutes from our house, and spectacular scenery, you also have special museums, historic towns and ancient monasteries.

 

Be sure to visit the beautiful white town of Obidos. During a walk on the ramparts you can enjoy stunning views of the surroundings.

 

Wine lovers can indulge themselves with the wine trail "Rota do Vinho do Oeste".

One of the wineries on this route, Quinta do Paço is just a kilometer from the house.  

 

There is something to do for everyone: surfing in Peniche and Nazaré, golf, mountain-biking, hiking and much more.  

 

If you just want to enjoy a day at the beach, you can go to Foz do Arelho on the Obidos Lagoon or to the bay of São Martinho do Porto.  

 

The farmers' markets and (fado) concerts make the affable Portuguese culture tangible.
